What amounts are available?
To give you some idea of what is possible here are some popular choices:
- Option 1: 10 hours (£350)
This is perfect for the budding genealogist or family historian. For those just starting out or if you want to give your loved one the experience of genealogy and family history research on a budget, this is the option for you.
- Option 2: 20 hours (£700)
This is the next step up from the 10 hour Gift Certificate. This will provide the genealogist or family historian in your life the opportunity for a more in-depth research experience.
- Option 3: 30 hours (£1,050)
Finally, you could choose this option. This is perfect for those who want to give their loved one a full research experience or want to travel back a little further through the generations.

These Certificates are fully inclusive, meaning the usual extra costs below are all included:
- Travel
- Civil Registration BMD certificates
- Archival charges
- Even things such as ScotlandsPeople credits (should your research take you to Scotland)
Terms and Conditions
All Gift Certificates are purchased directly by contacting info@shersca-genealogy.co.uk. They will be provided as a PDF file, which the purchaser then emails to the recipient. The recipient would then contact me by the expiry date shown on the certificate to arrange the research (ensuring that they present the purchased certificate via email).
The agreed research will be based upon the number of hours (and therefore cost) shown on the Gift Certificate, which will naturally vary between research objectives. This means that it cannot include a set number of generations, documents or people and will be entirely based upon the objectives of the recipient and what is possible within the timeframe and cost of the Gift Certificate purchased. If for any reason information cannot be found, then a refund will be made to the purchaser of the Gift Certificate.
All end products (i.e. research and report) purchased using a Gift Certificate will be delivered digitally via a PDF file (unless otherwise arranged), the copyright of which remains with the genealogist (allowing a small number of copies to be made).
The purchaser is entitled to an initial 14 day ‘cooling off’ period during which a Gift Certificate can be cancelled and a full refund requested (unless the Gift Certificate has already been assigned to genealogical research). Please email info@shersca-genealogy.co.uk to request cancellation and refund.
It is not the responsibility of Shersca Genealogy should a Gift Certificate be used without permission and we will not provide a refund or replacement. If a Gift Certificate is lost or stolen and the order can be matched to a purchase made, we will do our best to honour the purchase.
None of Shersca Genealogy’s Gift Certificates can be sold to a third party without our written consent, which may be subject to conditions imposed by us.
